Dr. SZ Jafrey is an experienced Consultant Pulmonologist, Allergist, Somnologist and Critical Care expert, based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He is available for consultations at the Indore Chest Centre, a research centre dedicated to asthma, allergy, COPD, sleep and allied chest diseases, besides offering a blood allergy testing service.
With over 24 years of experience in his areas of specialisation, Dr. Jafrey is well versed in dealing with respiratory allergies, urticarias, specific immunotherapy, critical care (ICU, ARDS), as well as ventilators, sleep disorders in OSAs and tuberculosis of all organs. Additionally, he has also worked in areas relating to heart disease and diabetes.
Before starting his private practice, Dr. Jafrey had worked at the Indore Development Authority as Manager, Health for the Indore Habitat Improvement Project, an urban poor upliftment project of ODA, Govt. of UK (British High Commission). From 1990 to 1997, he headed a team of 350 which included doctors, paramedics and NGOs, being associated with the Choithram Hospital and Research Centre, Indore. He has had considerable exposure in various departments of medicine such as critical care, neurology, internal medicine and cardiology.
Dr. Jafrey has worked on several clinical trials, having performed various Phase IIIA, IIIB and IV clinical research studies for various companies such as Sanofi Aventis, Cipla, Pierre Fabre France, GSK, German Remedies, Cadila and many more companies. He has also performed the AIRSA Study (Asthma Inside Realities in South Asia) for GSK. He has organised various CMEs on chest medicine, critical care and asthma, as well as patient awareness programmes on asthma and respiratory allergies, besides having organised health check camps in and around Indore. As a delegate, he has attended several national conferences (APCDC/NAPCON/ICAAICON) connected to chest/pulmonology, critical care and allergy. He has kept abreast of developments within his profession by attending training sessions and CMEs on critical care, ventilator management, sleep disorders, interventional pulmonology, specific immunotherapy, allergic disorders and cardiology, etc. at regional, national and international levels.
